Railsbank North America has achieved a huge milestone, obtaining Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) accreditation.
This is the industry standard and requirement for safely handling cardholder data. PCI DSS certification focuses on the security of card data via a set of requirements established by the influential Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC).
These requirements include a number of best practices including the installation of firewalls and the encryption of data transmissions. The objective is to make online transactions secure and protect them against identity theft.
Customers of Railsbank North America will benefit as it ensures that best practices are currently being followed and will be strictly followed in the future.
Dov Marmor, COO of Railsbank North America, said:
“It is great to have achieved this key industry accreditation and it demonstrates to our customers, partners and other stakeholders our total commitment to payment security. We play an active role with the on-going effort to increase global network security and this accreditation recognises our achievements so far.”
The PCI SSC provides industry-driven, flexible and effective data security standards and programmes that help businesses detect, mitigate and prevent cyberattacks and breaches.
It was founded in 2006 by American Express, Discover, JCB International, MasterCard and Visa Inc. They share equally in ownership, governance and execution of the Council's work.
